Poll fed window cleaning

Using water fed poles for window cleaning is a lot quicker than using other access methods for window cleaning. Using water-fed poles for window cleaning allows us to access external windows up to a height of 80ft easily and quickly giving our clients huge cost savings as well as health and safety benefits (So we are not working from a height)

We can provide our clients with cost savings of upto 20% using this method compared to other window cleaning access methods.

The reason that this method leaves the windows smear free and spot free is that all of the impurities have been taken out of the water so when the purified water dries there are no minerals left behind to mark your windows.

Traditional window cleaning

We use both the traditional window cleaning method as well as the more modern “Pure Water” technique.

Traditional window cleaning today is the use of water and detergent, an applicator to wash the window, a squeegee to remove the water, detergent and dirt off the glass. Finally, I use a very absorbent glass cloth to clean off any remaining solution that has missed by the squeegee, right in the edges where the window meets the frame. The end result is a window that is dry and gleaming. Your frames and sills will also be ‘wiped down’ when moping any excess cleaning solution away.

Though a “Shammy (chamois) Leather” is traditional, is actually now considered more “Old Fashioned” than a “Traditional Window Cleaning” tool. The tools and detergents we use now do a much better job of window cleaning than the old Shammy (Chamois) Leathers do.

What Is Pure Water

Pure Water, is water which has been treated to remove any dissolved solids particles from the water. Tap water is full of these contaminates, which stop you being able to wash with water alone without leaving, marks, spots and smears etc. Believe it or not, but water from the tap these days in not “Pure Water”, but is full of impurities. The level of these impurities vary from region to region, and here in leicester, our tap water if fairly good compared to many other parts of the country. In fact, bottled drinking water often has even more “Total dissolved Solids” than tap water in commonly found in leicester. I process tap water, causing a de-ionisation process, which removes the dissolved solids. The resulting purified water give us 2 important benefits, with regard to cleaning windows:

  • The water has no contaminates to leave any residue on your windows afterwards.
  • The water is now much better at removing dirt from your windows.

Water Fed Pole / Pure Water Window Cleaning

When cleaning your windows, I use a specially designed ‘brush head’. This is no normal brush head, but has been specifically designed and made for the purpose of cleaning glass with pure water. This brush head goes on the end of a long pole. I then pump up pure water to the brush head, and through jets in the brush. Using this pure water and this special brush head, I can remove the dirt from your windows, frames and sills. The fibres in these brushes have a number of qualities, but those most important to you are:

  • The brush fibres are kind to glass, and don’t mark your windows.
  • They do not hold dirt in the brush fibres themselves, which aid the window cleaning process.

After the dirt has been removed, I rinse off the windows with more of this treated water. This leaves them very clean, and since the is no residue from detergent, cleaning product, contaminates in the water or anything else, your windows actually stay cleaner for longer! They stay cleaner, because there is nothing for the dirt to stick to – no residues, not even a micro fine layer since everything has been cleaned off using pure water and rinsed again just to make sure it’s clean, with pure de-ionised water.

When To Use The Traditional Window Cleaning Method

Generally, We prefer to use the traditional window cleaning method when cleaning windows for the first time – and even more so if the windows haven’t been cleaned in a while. We also like to use traditional window cleaning methods on windows that need special treatment. Maybe they have been cleaned previously with a wax based, cleaning product, and We need to remove the wax film first. The traditional method is great on windows that have a lot of hand prints over them, this may be a house window, or a business. In general, any window that need special attention, We prefer to use the traditional window cleaning method as We can give it more detailed attention. We have a number of tools, and cleaning solution applicators which are used, depending on what problems We come across. So, can deal with a variety issues and problems by changing a tool or technique etc.

The traditional method of window cleaning is the method that most people think about when concidering window cleaners, though, We use two methods – this method, and the more modern Pure Water or Water Fed Pole Method of cleaning windows.

When cleaning the inside of windows, We almost always use this method, as it is the cleanest, and most tidy for inside use.
